The Route:

The 4,000 Mile Route will take place between 1st – 15th September 2013

Reece was diagnosed with autism at the age of three and, like many with the condition, finds social interaction challenging and has difficulty with speech, language and eye contact. He has struggled at a mainstream school and only started to fulfil his potential when    he moved to Granta, a specialist school which meets his needs.

We hope as many bikers will get involved as possible and help support this cause,    which is so close to my heart.

How You Can Help:

Here at Iron Horse Ranch House we are hoping to hold a series of small fundrasing events at our BIKE NIGHTS throughout the summer to not only raise awareness about this epic trip but to raise some money for Autism UK.

You can get involved by donating at one of these events or even pledging a day of your riding time to escort Paul on his trip around the UK.

We are hoping to support the cavalcade Paul is organising from Kings Lynn to the BMF Tailend on his final day more information to follow.

BIKERS SPREAD THE LOVE

Despite the artic conditions on Sunday 24^th March, motorcycle riders from across four counties and the local community came together to raise money for disabled children in Peterborough. .

Iron Horse Ranch House, formally Harley’s Diner in Market Gate, Market Deeping, organised the third ever popular Harley Daze event in aid of Family Voice, Peterborough.

Harley Daze started back in 2011 when the local Rutland Chapter were seeking a place to socialise after their well-known Easter Egg Run to Peterborough City Hospital, over the years the event has got bigger and raised approx. £2000 for charity.

Organiser Richard Swinscoe said: “Harley Daze is a fun way of bringing the local Deepings community together with motorcyclists from across the East Midlands to raise money for charity”.

The previous year’s events helped raise money for Afghan Heroes however this year we decided to keep it local supporting Family Voice, Peterborough.

Family Voice, Peterborough is a small local charity that actively seeks to improve services in all areas of the lives of children and young people with disabilities or additional needs.

Despite snow warnings volunteers from across the local and biker communities were determined that the ‘Show would go on’ and frantically cleared snow and put up temporary cover to ensure that Harley Daze III would go ahead so that the children would not miss out. This true English grit paid off 150 guests including 2 crazy bikers throughout the day attended helping to raise £312.00 for Family Voice, Peterborough although donations are still coming in.

As guests enjoyed entertainment from bands Half Time Radio, Quinn, AVB Band and The Liquor and Poker Blues Band, American beer was flowing and the smell of Hog Roast and freshly baked cookies wafted through the air.

Richard Swinscoe said ‘Iron Horse Ranch House would like to take this opportunity to thank the bands and traders which included The Cookie Box, Deeping Fudge, Kustom Graphic and Pinstripe Magazine, Peterborough MAG and Pinchbeck Pig Roast for attending the event and helping to make it enjoyable for everyone’

‘We would also like to thank the guests that attended wrapped up in layers of winter clothing, we are proud to be associated with a community that pulls together in the face of adversity to raise money for charity”.

‘We would also like to thank everyone that donated raffle prizes including the Showcase Cinema, Peterborough who provided us with posters to auction off after the event to raise even more funds for the charity’

During the event children from Family Voice, Peterborough received Easter eggs from the big give away of Easter eggs donated by the local and biker community. The remainder of the eggs were taken back to Family Voice, Peterborough Headquarters to be distributed to other children’s charities in Peterborough that they support.

Iron Horse Ranch House, formally Harley’s Diner was founded in 2012 by Richard and his Daughter Verity and is an American-style restaurant. This event has been held as part of future expansion plans with a vision to bring the biker, car and local communities together to put Market Deeping on the Map.

LATEST NEWS: Cheque Presentation @ Bike Night 25/4/2013

The presentation of a cheque for £340 to Family Voice Peterborough took place on Thursday 25th April 2013 at Bike Night.

Proprietor of Iron Horse Ranch House, Richard Swinscoe said ‘We thought it was appropriate to present the cheque to representatives from Family Voice Peterborough at Bike Night as it was hard working Bikers from our recent Harley Daze III event that helped to raise the money for the charity. We ensured that representatives from the Bike Community and the band The Liquor and Poker Blues Band were present to help us hand over the cheque. We are really proud of all the work we do for charity and are happy to know that the money raised will go to a Halloween Party for the children and their families that Family Voice Peterborough Support’.

After the cheque presentation the bikes celebrated their good deed with sounds from Zakk Zoot Music with good food. This was the first LIVE MUSIC Bike Night at Iron Horse Ranch House. Launching a exisitng legacy for both Bike Night and a partnership with Family Voice Peterborough.

Great Pancake Day at Iron Horse Ranch House Man v Food eat your heart out! We have had some real champs in tonight! It all started with Richard laying down the challenge with his ‘HEART ATTACK’ pancake stack. Could you eat ’4 American pancakes stacked high with; peanut butter, cherry pie filling, blueberries, squirty cream, butter and topped with maple syrup!’?  Here’s a picture of it below:

Then the challengers came to take on The Ultimate Pancake Stacker Challenge starting with Snowy from the Rutland HOG Chapter. Here’s him and his wife val tucking into their maple syrup and ice cream stacks. Snowy demolished the stack and 1 of val’s pancakes in 12 mintues. Could anyone beat him.

Then came in Sam Edwards, Chris,’Ollie’ and the legend that is John who can over tonight for a bit of a food challenge. John has amazed all ‘The Crew’ by demolishing The Big Twin Street Pounder Burger +The Ultimate Pancake Stacker Challenge (6 pancakes with bacon and chocolate sauce?  Could anyone beat him??

Up stand the crew in the ultimate left over pancake challenge. In a Man vs Food Style challenge 2 memeber of the crew took on 10 All American Pancake + Bacon + 1/2 pound of sausage meat. Andy vs Rob vs Food ….but who would be victorious???

Not forgetting to mention the fantastic Mean Valley Roller Derby  members and Total Vision Motorcycle Club who travelled as far a Grantham for our All American Pancake Stacks. Many took on the Ultimate Challenge but none was as impressive as the ones mentioned above.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who made this Pancake Day such a success.

For our 1st Valentines Day at Iron Horse Ranch House we can honestly say it was one of the best nights yet. The St Valentines Day Massacre theme was out of the box and definately an alternative to the usual Valentines evening but still many would agree was just as romantic.

A Massive thanks goes to all that the evening, and especially to those that dressed as Gangsters N Molls to get into the theme of things.

Ain’t Misbehavin’ made the whole night swing with their music playing songs from the era as well as valentines classics. Well done to those who got up and danced at the end and to those dancing in their chairs also got into the spirit of the evening.

The food I think all will agree was supurb and really brough something different to the valentines table, even the complimentary ‘tea’ went down a storm.

To be honest I half expected Bugsy Malone or Al Capone to walk in and ask to join us.

Another hugely enjoyable night with a great bunch of people at Iron Horse Ranch House.

From the feedback we have recieved from this event look our for more themed nights in the future.
